The process of perception reveals itself naturally in the paintings and sculptures of Esther Boehm. Her style and her identity are intrinsically woven into a dialogue with surfaces, contours, colours, with the theme of 'painting'. Through the dynamics of line and colour, surfaces are transformed into multiple fields of tension which encompass space. Esther Boehm's paintings are multi- and micro-spatially arranged, seem to fluctuate, to float over luminous surfaces of colour. The surfaces themselves, physically restricted, give the illusion of being without restriction. Her sculptures, also, display objects, contours in a precarious balance between entity and illusion, and they refer to nothing less than the creative process itself.
